Luxembourg has the lowest gender pay gap in the EU

According to a Eurostat study, Luxembourg has the lowest gender pay gap in the EU. Globally women’s gross hourly earnings in 2020 were 13% lower than those of their male counterparts. However, Luxembourg came out on top with the smallest pay gap between men and women of just 0.7% followed by Romania at 2.4% and Slovenia at 3.1%.

The unadjusted gender pay gap, as measured by Eurostat, shows the difference between the average gross hourly earnings of men and women. The indicator has been calculated for companies with 10 or more employees.
