21-22 June 2013 - Luxembourg is the perfect gateway and hub for Indian companies, interested in doing business in Europe
H.E. Mr Gaston Stronck, Ambassador of Luxembourg to India, held interactive sessions organised by PHD Chamber of Commerce, during two days visit to Ludhiana and Jalandhar in Punjab. Ambassador explained that Luxembourg's stable, high-income economy features moderate growth, low inflation, and low unemployment. It is ranked second richest country in the world as per capita GDP on purchasing-power parity (PPP). The economy which was largely dominated by steel have now diversified into chemicals, rubber, and other products. Banking and financial services, account for the majority of economic output. Luxembourg is the world's second largest investment fund center (after the United States), the most important private banking center in the Eurozone and a prominent place for listing bonds.
Luxembourg has a wide range of business sectors, particularly steel, chemical, plastics and synthetic materials, textiles, engineering, mechanical construction, industrial machinery, processing of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, car industry, precision instruments, electronic supplies and glass production.
The event provided an excellent opportunity to the members to interact and understand the bilateral trade between India and Luxembourg.
